I decided to write a review only because I got a Samsung laptop for prevention. I noticed that the disk is very hot. The reason for the heating is not the disk itself at all, it, like all its counterparts, heats up very weakly at 5400 rpm., And the location of the disk under the chipset of the motherboard, and even it was assigned the duties of an additional heat sink, putting a thermal pad under it. Such an engineering decision can be called a diversion against hard drive manufacturers. Naturally, when heated to 55 degrees, such a disk will live a maximum of a couple of years. It has been known since time immemorial that hard, for a long life, should not be heated above 50 degrees. Moreover, nothing depends on the company of the disk manufacturer, if it overheats, the hard disk from any brand dies Of course, on this laptop, I took the hard drive from the motherboard - removing the thermal pad and bending the ears of the disk mounting basket, the temperature now does not rise above 48 degrees. So run some test program on your computer and see what thermal mode your disk is running in. I can say for sure that all the negative reviews were written by the owners of laptops, where the disk was located under the motherboard and got very hot.
