I only consider this device as a photo tool. I've been using it as an external monitor for outdoor recordings for 2 years. Pros: Slim and lightweight design. Easier to carry than a laptop of the same size. This is one of the reasons to use it instead of a modem laptop. Relatively bright monitor compared to a typical computer monitor. Rich colors and excellent image quality from every viewing angle. In fact, my photo looks better on this screen than it does on my camera screen. It is good that the customer has a good impression from my photo. Can be powered by an external battery. I rated it at 30,000 mAh, which is easily enough for a full day of shooting (8-10 hours). Durability is good. Used a lot in the last 2 years. I took it everywhere, abused it quite a bit. It still works fine. So I think if you only use it at home it can last forever. Great solution for what it is and how I use it. Cons: The mini HDMI port isn't ideal for the type of work I use it for. I have to constantly plug and unplug the cable. As a result, it starts losing signal. I found a solution to work around this. I bought a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter. and never lose signal on set again
