Good home charger not cheap

I have a 2018 Nissan Leaf which I have mostly charged at public electric vehicle charging stations. I used my home charger that came with the Leaf but only on a 110 outlet. On a 110 outlet I charged at 1.5kW which is 6mph. This is good for overnight charging, but not great if you need a faster charger during the day. I asked an electrician to add a 240 Nema 14-50 outlet to my garage, wired to a 50 amp circuit breaker in my electrical box. I was about to order a 32Amp ChargePoint model when I noticed there is a newer model that will allow higher currents if your switch and electrical box support it. The ChargePoint Home Flex allows you to select the maximum amp setting based on your home electrical grid. . Setting up the charger itself was a breeze thanks to the easy assembly, plugging in, and Wi-Fi setup. I've used the ChargePoint app for public charging before, so adding a home charger was easy. The app is good but I think it could use some extra loading features. The app lets you create a schedule to set charging times during the week and weekends. This is a nice feature, but sometimes I just want to charge at any time of the day for a specific period of time. It would be nice to have a timed charge setting so I can put it on for a set amount of time and the charge will stop after that set amount of time. It would be nice if this integrated with Alexa or Siri so I can connect and tell Alexa to charge for 2 or 3 hours. Now the system works as follows: If you don't have a schedule setting, it will start loading automatically when you connect. An in-app setting to set the charger to not automatically start charging when plugged in would be nice. Then you can have a timer setting so you can connect and then tell Alexa to charge anytime for about 2 hours. I also think there should be a setting in the app to dim the status light on the charger. The status light is bright and shouldn't be that bright. ChargePoint should allow you to adjust the brightness based on the situation. In terms of charging, my 50 amp setup charges at 6.6kWh which adds about 25 miles every hour. I think this might be the max charge in kW in my level 2 charger on the Leaf. It is possible that other vehicles will increase their Tier 2 charges and your hourly added miles will increase as a result. Overall I like the ChargePoint Flex and with a few additional app/charge features it would have gotten 5 stars.
