As soon as I saw this product I bought it immediately. I love barbecues and do it almost every day. I have always used OXO tongs or a simple spatula before buying, these grill tongs are my grilling tool now. Like a spatula, they're big enough to turn the biggest burgers. They have a nice edge that makes it really easy to get under the burger and take it off the grill surface. As tongs, they can lift just about anything. I've used them on fried chicken, grilled veggies, burgers and steaks with no problems. They do have some trouble grabbing hot dogs or sausages, however, as they tend to roll when you try to get under them with a spatula, just like you would with any other spatula. The tong feature makes working with sausages and hot dogs easier than using a standard spatula, but standard tongs work best. My only criticism of the grill barrels is that the two ends do not fully line up when closed. . For this reason, the spatula cannot be used in the closed position, otherwise you risk cutting food, especially a hamburger. Opening the bins before using them as a spatula solves this problem, so it's not a deal breaker.
