Just a few months later the instrument died yesterday. I've used it in moderation, probably once or twice a week since I bought it in July, estimating less than 10 hours of use in total. No warnings, no sporadic problems, just turned it on yesterday to sand the drum a bit and nothing happened. I pulled the contacts, cleaned and reinstalled, nothing helped. Update: A few days after this review was posted, I completely disassembled the tool, blew everything out with compressed air, and reassembled it. By the way, YouTube is a great resource for such an endeavor. The device worked like new again and since then I've been using it at about the same speed as before with no problems. While I'm disappointed that it broke so quickly, there were some very small bits of sawdust inside which appeared to be causing the problem.
