Review on πŸ”’ ABUS Pro Tectic 4960 Frame Safety Cable Chain Lock for Ultimate Security by Willie Midkiff

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Just long enough to be useful.

To secure your bike securely, attach the frame and both wheels to a fixed object (e.g. a bike rack). The associated frame lock controls the rear wheel, so that the frame, the front wheel and the bike carrier can be left. On my bike (a mid-sized Specialized Crossroads Elite), routing this cable through the front wheel and frame leaves just enough slack to wrap it around the bike rack only when the bike is being held upright by most racks - which means when I can't lock on the side of the rack, I have to choose between leaving my bike precariously locked or being rude and using space for four or five bikes. I live in a city full of bike thefts so guess which option I'll take. This upgrade is on top of what you already paid for this cable. This is particularly disappointing as it is only 5-10 cm shorter.

Pros
  • Sports and outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not all fit
