update: I managed to get it working. According to tech support, BMW should be operational. It works, but it's a deal breaker that the machine has to be on. I bought an ODBLink LX which is slightly larger and works fine in all my vehicles. Skip that CX and just get the LX. I bought it to use with Bimmercode on my 2007 328i sedan. At the moment it does not connect to Bimmercode nor to the OBDLink software from the OBDLink website. The OBDLink software also does not work with my 2013 Honda CRV. I would stay away from this device for now. The OBDLink website forums also show that many people are having major problems getting this device to start. I'll be working on fixing something with their support staff this week and if there's a fix I'll update this review. If not, it will come back in a few days.
