I bought this to house the shunt that is part of the battery monitoring system for our camper. The shunt didn't fit in our existing battery boxes in any way, so I needed a safe, dry place to mount it. This box did it. I had to drill some 1" holes in the sides of the box for the battery cables (and the rubber grommets to protect the cables) and I was a little worried it wouldn't be strong enough, but it holds up well. also be very water repellent.
