Only used for the first time last night; It was pure joy to use! I can't comment on how long it stays sharp as I've only just used it, but the weight and balance of the blade and handle are perfect. I've used it to mash garlic, dice chewy daikon radish, and slice fried aburage tofu. It was perfectly shredded, diced and sliced. I was concerned about the weight when I ordered it as I'm not that tall or strong so I struggle with heavy or bulky kitchen appliances. But the feeling is PERFECT. It's light enough that I can swing it around on a chopping board like my smaller long-bladed kitchen knife, but heavy enough that its weight is perfect for mincing garlic when I turn it on its side. The handle has a comfortable grip, not afraid of accidentally slipping or falling when gripping. All in all very well worth the price, highly recommend if you are serious about cooking and/or preparing a lot of Asian (especially Chinese) food. Cook.
