So this review is probably going to sound strange as I was trying to use this camera for something far from what it's advertised for. Because it was such a low price with such a high resolution, I figured there would be no loss if something went wrong. As for the 2k@30fps camera, at this price point it really can't get any better. Unfortunately it's mjpeg, not h264 or h265, but functionally it doesn't make much of a difference. The camera also gets a lot noisier than more expensive cameras in low light, but that's still a good thing. The camera costs $17. I experimented with a camera directly in the aquarium. I used silicone to seal any gaps where water could get into the webcam body. This includes both the front and back edges of the case, around the USB cable, above the speaker, around the lens mount and also around the actual stand. As for waterproofing, I found what I did worked perfectly and the camera installed easily in the aquarium with no leaks or air bubbles. The video also streamed seamlessly via OBS. The problem I've found that prevents using this camera for my experimental purposes is that the lens just doesn't work at all, even underwater. Everything is crystal clear when looking into the aquarium or through the water, but the focus becomes very blurred underwater. Unfortunately the lens structure on this camera doesn't work underwater as that would be an amazing setup. For people who want to use it for its intended purpose, I have no problem recommending it.
