Review on Kleinn Air Horns HOGKIT-1: Powerful Direct Drive Horn System in Striking Silver & Black, 14 Inch by Julio Avikunthak

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks good and loud enough to wake the dead but really lousy instructions and poor quality control.

This is my second set of Klein Hogkit-1 air horns. I had this set on my last bike as the horns keep idiot riders from "not noticing me". The first set I installed on my Tri-Glide stopped working after about a year and a half and no matter what I did I couldn't get them to work again. This set was the same as the first in terms of quality control - very very poor. Some parts are missing, like the nuts needed to complete it and the pre-crimped wire connectors, which come loose in my hand. The pre-drilled hole for mounting the horn on the bike was too small and I had to drill it to fit my Harley. The instructions, if anything, were worse than before and completely unreadable. Luckily I've built Hogkits twice before and was able to get the missing parts out of an old one I just removed from my hang glider. Once installed this airhorn is loud enough to wake the dead so I'll keep buying them but be prepared for an interesting setup. They look good when they are on the bike. (Small mounting point - connect the positive and negative leads to the underside of the supercharger BEFORE mounting it to the horn mount. You can then route them into the battery compartment. If you do this as instructed and wait till the end to order To get this connections seated, sit there for an hour or more trying to install the connections on the underside of the compressor, working about 3/4" into the mount. Trust me - your fingers don't twist like that!)
