I bought this game for my 8 and 5 year olds for Christmas purely out of nostalgia as I had an old sturdy Franklin Rod hockey game with flat plastic players. I played this game to hell hoping to pass that same love on to my kids. Unfortunately, this game is poorly made. Cheap and flimsy plastic, sticks that keep breaking off from players, and sticks that get stuck as you move and twist. If he lives longer I will be shocked. On the plus side, my boys love the game despite the poor quality and for what I paid ($22 crazy, $40 MSRP!) I don't mind that much if they don't. play at all. For now it will be a good game for beginners but in the future I will invest in a quality Stiga set.
