This is perfect for my living room . Put it next to my husband's chair. He puts his iPad on it to charge it. I bought 2 and now only use 1 (have changed my mind several times on where to direct it). I was looking for a plug and USB combo that would provide surge protection. We've had frequent hurricanes lately and the power goes on and off more often and some neighbors have experienced blackouts and lost their electronics. I did it to protect mine. would recommend
