Review on Nissyo Transformer NDF Series 1500W - Decrease Voltage from 120V to 100V - NDF-1500u (Henatsuki) by Sean Santhanam

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It worked three times and that's it!

I've had a Nissyo 1100w for over 10 years, hitting the hot carpet from Japan to the US. I also used it to work with a Panasonic home bakery (430w) and it worked fine but when I bought a Tiger IH rice cooker (750w) it stopped cooking and showed an error message. I was so scared that I might break the car. Now I'm very happy to know that my new Nissyo 1500w works on my rice cooker! And it also has two plugs which for some reason I couldn't tell from the Revain picture. I also bought a 4 year protection plan for $10. Too bad I didn't buy the 4 year plan for the rice cooker and not the converter. Update - After using the Nissyo Transformer 3 times on my Japanese rice cooker, the cooker started throwing an error mid-cook and wouldn't cook. continues even after unplugging the cable, meaning I was just wasting rice. It would be nice if the manufacturer tested different types of consumer electronics to give consumers an idea of what types of devices work and which don't. Hence I deducted a star. I also use a transformer for Aprecia 1250w and it works great.
