Full warning I don't bake very much so I can't speak for heavily baked foods. In general, they hold up well to normal washing and remove starchy foods from dishes well. I use them daily to remove dried food from quartz countertops. I use them in combination with Trader Joe's cellulose sponges and the microwave at the end of the day to sanitize. Each scrubber lasts about 6 weeks, after which I toss them in the compost. I first bought a washcloth that was sold as dishwashing liquid but it was terrible. They weren't abrasive enough to remove anything and not absorbent enough to act like a sponge. I also tried a Target sponge and scrubber combo and the scrubber fell apart in just a few days. Needless to say, I was so excited to finally find these coconut scrubbers!
