This is my first angle grinder. I've always wanted one, but since I don't need it often, I just couldn't justify the price tag for branded tools. This grinder is very simple: a standard 5/8" mandrel with an integrated holder for 7/8" cutting/grinding wheels. The tool is a standard brushed motor, spindle-lock gear, 180-degree adjustable guard, and a handle that can be move to either side of the spindle. It also comes with a mandrel chuck tool and 3 60 grit metal grinding wheels. Unlike some other models, there is no attachment point for the handle opposite the spindle, making using this tool as a cutting tool a bit more fiddly than it should be The safety guard uses a screw instead of a quick release, so a screwdriver is required to adjust the power switch is a slide switch with a built-in lock located in an awkward place on the left I'm a bit suspicious of the built-in lock of such tools as I want them to disconnect when they leave me but because of the awkward location you almost have to use a lock. I would prefer the trigger to be on the back of the device. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required with such tools. Safety goggles (preferably a protective mask!), sturdy leather gloves and appropriate clothing are required. Never operate the tool without the tool guard in place and properly aligned. Always hold the tool with both hands. Always use the tool to direct sparks away from the user and combustible materials. Only use the tool so that the movement of the tool is directed away from the user. Hearing protection is mandatory for indoor use. Leave enough working space for safety and proper use of the tool. After setting up the instrument I found it to be quite loud (as expected) with a slight rumble coming from the gears. I used it outdoors so I didn't need hearing protection. The device got warm during use, but not too much. Despite using two hands, the tool's body was thick enough that I had a hard time holding it well, and I found that most of my grip was focused on the handle. I've found that when attached to the right side (I'm right-handed) the grip loosens during use - you'll need to check frequently and tighten if necessary. For a budget angle grinder I think this is a fantastic deal. . I would like to take a tote bag with me, but in this price range it would be too expensive. For a few bucks more, other brands have a feature or two that this machine doesn't have, but you can find significantly more expensive grinders that aren't any better than this one. Overall I am very happy with this meat grinder.
