2nd time a charm is good for heating

Works, fits, cheap (much cheaper than OEM Volvo), only time will tell. In the last 3 or 4 years I have installed 2 used fan motors in my car, this time I decided to buy a new one. I had to send the first one I got when I installed it and turned it on. , the fan was so unbalanced that my dash vibrated like I'd just dropped a few quarters into a bed of magical fingers. Anything above level 2 and vibration rendered the fan unusable. As always, Revain's amazing customer service sent me a new one straight away, they didn't even require me to send a bad one before sending me a new one. I noticed that the second fan motor I received had several letters/numbers handwritten on it. On the fan as if tested before packing, and on the first unbalanced fan motor there is no such inscription anywhere. Anecdotal at best, but perhaps the first fan motor was never balanced to begin with. The fan motor comes with a new plastic harness holder, I have tested it with both the new and old factory holder. Everything got to the factory seatbelt holder but it was tight, the back of the glove box touching it. The new shorter bracket that comes with the new fan motor pushes the wiring harness closer to the fan motor, providing just over an inch of clearance between it and the back of the glove box. Replacing a wire harness holder is as easy as cutting and replacing a pair of zip ties, and gives you more clearance so there's no good reason not to replace it. Plug sizes and positions. This fan motor is a slightly different shape than the factory motor, but is physically a little shorter than stock (about 1/8 inch), fits at least as snugly as stock (using a new harness holder), and all connectors fit almost as native .
