This tool did a fantastic job last weekend. I replaced my stock springs on my '08 VW Rabbit with derating springs. This tool has proven its worth. It worked really well and still looks the way I got it even after being abused during installation. Of course you can try a screwdriver or a scratching post, but the thing is small and won't interfere with your work. I highly recommend spending money on this tool if you plan to do any work on your racks.
