I have three different types of 5 gallon bottles and they are very tight to begin with. The plastic is a bit thin, especially the tongue, but it works, I haven't noticed any leaks. I found the best way to use them: 1) Lightly hit the bottle with a hammer or the palm of your hand. 2) Peel off the sticker and start peeling off the tongue but stop when there is about 20-25% left. 3) Use a razor to cut off the free part, leaving a molding to work on later (see image).
