I had a prong collar that was very difficult to put on and take off at night because I had no strength in my hands. This design allows for easy on and off with a buckle system and the length is easily adjustable via a nylon webbing attached to the buckle. I will always use it in conjunction with a Martngale collar in case the plastic buckle fails. It has rubber tips to protect my dog's neck. It is a valuable tool for training large breed draft dogs. Update - 12/11/2021. There is an issue with the adjustable velcro strap. Velcro on the nylon strap used to adjust the buckle will not stick. Therefore, an adjustment that supports the size of the collar will not be discontinued. This weakens the collar and renders it ineffective. That's a great idea, but to keep the size right they need to sew strong buttons onto the nylon, not velcro. Otherwise it's a good notched collar, aside from the inability to adjust it properly.
