These bolts are only attached to the arch and not to the sides of the bases. Most fenders I've ridden before have enough side material to fall off and tie the zipper at the bottom. I was a bit worried they wouldn't be stable enough but after two rides with some technique, jumps and fast short runs my concerns were gone. I actually installed them upside down as I found the carbon fiber with white logo too gaudy for me. They offer good protection against water/dirt/dirt and are great for summer wear. I use a much larger dedicated front fender for Fall/Winter/Spring as it rains a lot here in PNW. All in all, not a bad deal for two working wings.
