We wanted to update the look of the old Moen Posi-Temp shower valve and initially thought we would have to hire a plumber and take everything apart. We then learned that we could replace the fairing - which shows - which was the perfect solution for doing so without spending a fortune. Now it looks like new! As long as your valve is working fine, you can go this route. Just make sure you know the exact valve type as each trim is very specific to each manufacturer. The Moen website helped us identify the model the previous owner installed. Although we limited ourselves to replacing another Moen, their company had enough styles and colors to choose from to keep us happy.
