This adapter fits me perfectly. You connect the adapter to a stereo sound source, e.g. B. the audio output of a stereo radio or computer. Then take a mono device, e.g. B. a mono earphone or a single speaker and connect it to the adapter. The mono device then plays the left and right channels of the source in mono. It electrically shorts the "tip" and "ring" contacts visible on the adapter (left and right channels, respectively), creates a mono mix and routes it to the tip in the adapter. Thus there is no internal ring connection. So it goes from stereo to mono left channel. The picture shows silver color but the one I received was gold color. If it's actually a gold compound, then it's an improvement over silver (better electrical connection, longer life).
