I read the instructions and it said not to fully seat the hoop to the back of the clip, but either way they were too loose so the hoop would just slide, but we made it work. I have a 50lbs blue heeler/boarder collie and one time she was distracted and hit the side pole of the hoop stand and it just snapped the pole clean off; luckily it did not create a point and impale her! Next she hit a slalom pole and it also fractured. Definitely would buy something with a little more durability if you are just starting out like us!
