Review on 3 Pack Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector: Portable Battery Operated Fire & Co Alarm for Home and Kitchen by David Lambert

I purchased this product in a 3 pack due to new building codes in my state. The new codes required a carbon monoxide detector outside of each bedroom. I had an existing *main brand* that was no further than 6 feet from each bedroom, but that was not up to current standards. So to pass the test of the new furnace I added 3 new CO detectors outside of the 3 bedrooms, each within 6 feet of each other and with the existing CO detector still in place. Less than 60 days later, I received a low battery alert on one of the devices. I originally thought it was my outdated carbon monoxide detector, but it wasn't. Overall the quality of the devices seemed satisfactory and I would be willing to replace the "starter" battery with a conventional battery that would provide years of service. Services. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to replace these batteries and they aren't in the typical form factor ie 9V or AA. The "10 year" battery cannot be replaced without damaging the plastic housing. Currently 2 out of 3 units are still running, but only for 55 days. Do yourself a favor and buy a carbon monoxide detector with replaceable batteries.
