The packaging was very secure and they were all in the box separated by a sleeve. I haven't installed them yet (still in the process of painting the first house) but I'm very happy!

These alarm clocks will drain the battery in just a few days and then start shutting off with no smoke. Also, the LCD display, which is supposed to indicate safe operation, is a very, very bright strobe light that lights up the whole room like a flash. In fact, it may be the brightness of this light that explains the very fast battery drain. Don't try to buy those dangerous alarm clocks. You cannot defend yourself for long.

A gift is offered in exchange for a review. but never send a gift. They are impossible to get even with the help of Amazon. Therefore there is no product support. As for the product itself. they are very affordable. However, the test instructions do not match the product. None of the 6 alarms I bought ever said "fire" or anything, but they flashed green and went off the first test alarm. I'm curious to see how sensitive they will be to cooking. but so far no problems.

If you don't like LEDs flashing brightly at night, don't use this. I installed one in my bedroom. Usually smoke alarms have a flashing light to let you know they are working. But they're insanely bright at night. Also, those fire alarms are so weak. Not sure if they will work at all. I have one in my kitchen and have cooked meat that has become very smoky. I was sure the alarm clock would ring. It never happened. I will send these back.

Many reviews have rightly complained that the batteries die after a modest amount of time. After looking at the batteries, I decided (without seeing the rating) that they were going to die soon. I replaced them all with good quality lithium batteries. I hope these continue. The comment that the flashing light is like a strobe light is a reasonable comment. I covered the light with black tape for what is installed in my bedroom. Helped reduce strobe, but not perfect.

I purchased this product in a 3 pack due to new building codes in my state. The new codes required a carbon monoxide detector outside of each bedroom. I had an existing *main brand* that was no further than 6 feet from each bedroom, but that was not up to current standards.
