I've been carving for a while and bought this set as part of a promotion so I may not be the target user for this product. However, this set is the most complete "starter kit". 'seen. It has everything you need from wood, sandpaper and paint to a knife, sling and putty. It even came with finger wraps and (in classic BeaverCraft style) bandages! The knife arrived sharpened and with regular use of the sling it did not require re-sharpening to keep it sharp. The instructions have been printed in an easy to use booklet. Follow up with more photos and the horse wood blank was really easy and fun to carve.
