This antenna was easy to install but the previous antenna was not that easy to remove. It was screwed on fairly tightly so I had to use a wrench and although I put a wrench in it I ended up stripping some of the black paint off the base of my original antenna. This doesn't come as a blow to this product, but be aware that you may damage your standard antenna if you remove it. Installation was complicated by the fact that there is a black ring in the box that is not explained anywhere in the instructions. I haven't used it, but I have no idea what this thing is for. If they put it in a box, they have to explain what it is for. I have attached a photo. After installation, all FM stations became active. AM stations seemed weaker than before, but I can't be 100% sure. The antenna looks good, although the base width is wider than my F-150's antenna socket, so they don't quite match. It's good enough for me and I'm quite obsessive, but if you're very obsessive, this might bother you. I have attached photos. All in all if you need a smaller antenna this is a good replacement for the stock antenna and I recommend it. I personally don't like that it's bullet shaped, the seller has a bulletless option, but the bullet was what I had on Vine to review, so I ordered it. On the plus side, I doubt many people will see that on your truck and immediately decide it needs to look like a sphere. But if you read this product page you will know because it is correct in the product description but not so obvious from the context. I rely heavily on other people's reviews when making a purchasing decision, so I hope this helps you!
