First of all, I don't use them in the kitchen. I use them as mats for our swings. I wanted something soft for child safety, but basically something to prevent the ruts and mud puddles that are so common under swing sets. We've had them for a few years now and they're doing a great job. They have withstood the wear and tear of children playing and lawn maintenance.
