Review on πŸ”’ XENA Motorcycle Disc Lock Alarm Yellow - Ultimate Security for Your Bike by Nelson Calafell

Better than the competition.

.but still a lot of work. If you put it on a floppy disk and set an alarm, it will sometimes start ringing after a few hours for no reason. This is not a malfunction, otherwise I would have exchanged it. Thing is, this thing uses a laser that's projected onto the brake disc/rotor, and when it detects the movement of the laser, it fires. Unfortunately, rotors can get a little dirty, and if dirt or sand on the rotor doesn't make the laser's initial reflection optimal, it's more likely to fire when the bike moves slightly (e.g. out of the wind). I always keep this alarm on my XR650L when I'm not at it and I keep it in my garage. Sometimes, if the alarm isn't set to hang on the glass at the right angle, the wind blowing into the tiny gap between the bottom of the garage door and the concrete floor will actually move the alarm enough to set it off. You understand what angle you should hang the alarm at, but false alarms are much less common. I've found that if the alarm doesn't accidentally go off within 10-20 minutes of being set, it won't go off for weeks unless the bike moves/bumps in some way. Model (I want to say XX-14 but I can't remember right now, I bought it from another seller) and it has similar features but it works just as well. I would buy both again. Xena makes the best disc locks in my opinion.
