that these parts need to be combined. In my first set (a few years ago), the extension tube was too small to fit the 2-1/2" Shop Vac hose. In this case, the elbow won't fit the extension tube. Also, most of today's ones are Vacuum cleaners with 1-7/.8" hoses instead of the old 2-1/2" hoses. It also causes a problem when trying to connect the hose to extension tubes because the hose is too small. I have one Bought a set of hose adapters but all the fittings fit, I was lucky that my DeWalt shop vacuum could take a 2-1/2" hose. The next problem was trying to find a new 2-1/2" vacuum hose . I was lucky enough to find one from Grainger and after some fiddling I got the whole system working. The results were great.
