You can learn a lot with it

I start to sew. I sewed at Home Ec. class decades ago. I also tried 3 smaller machines. manual type and two mini machines. This one isn't as beginner-friendly as the other three, but has a lot more potential once you learn what to do. It doesn't come with a spool of thread unlike others I've had. I guess they are not suitable for newbies who don't already have stock. There is also no needle threader other than the one on the machine. It comes with a pink pre-rolled spool in the base, but it spins spools off reels if/when needed. Haven't used this feature yet, but it's great to have (along with the auto needle threader). So you need to pass the bobbin through them to the needle. You have a choice of a slightly horizontal coil or a fully vertical coil. it says to go for the size of the coil. The good thing is that even if I put it in the bag (not included in the bag), you can leave the horizontal. However, the thread stretches a bit when you pick up the pen, but that doesn't matter. I tried sewing in a straight line, it was easy. I love that you have 3 speed options. I chose the lowest because I haven't planted for so long. The foot pedal was easy to use. I then tried to make a car on a bib. Well, the material of the bib wasn't quite right for it, it was wrinkled and worn. So I tried out the machine on the little things they provided. that they have already experienced. It was cool that she auto seeded the machine. I really wish the car would face the other way, although I could put cars or dogs or swans on the hem if it's upside down. It's still pretty cool that it has this feature along with the knobs it uses to control the fabric and move it around as needed. I created an alphabet using the same function. Pretty cool. I don't know how much I'm really going to use it. There seems to be a lot more than I could actually use with this machine, but too much is better than too little. The light on this was enough for my needs. A beginner has a lot to learn. It's a good size but portable. I think this sewing machine meets all my needs and more. Happy with the product.
