We love this little grill and pan. I got it for my 79 years. old Mother. She loves it. Clean up is so easy; just remove the grill plates, soak in the sink for a few minutes and voila! Here's what we cooked on it: burgers, paninis, toast, burritos, hot dogs, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sautéed onions, sausage, chicken breasts, fried cheese. There is no auto shut off in this device but there is a timer. We like it better than the chunkier three-handle design. It is much better to know the digitally set temperature. The size of this device is perfect. However, we're only deducting one star because it's not exactly flat when fully open, almost 99%. I understand the light grade is there to allow juices and oils to drain into the center so they collect in a hidden little oil/grease pan. However, it does cause my runny scrambled eggs to flow down that middle drain area and out of the pan. noooo! Frying eggs is fine. No problem. The eggs are not very good. However, pancakes work because the batter is thicker. I'm just saying there has to be a way to make a pan 100% flat. And in an ideal world, if Cuisinart made the rims of the pans a little deeper, that would help cook scrambled eggs, too. Fix it and you get five stars. However, can I recommend this product? Oh yeah! You bet! We use ours almost every day.
