The pinnacle of human engineering.

This was delivered at 18:14. It's now 6:35pm and I've already prepared a full meal. I love it. From a very dated handyman, George, who I swore I got this specifically for the removable panels. This was my main complaint about the GF, it was difficult to clean. But this. This beautiful mechanism is the pinnacle of human engineering. I love being able to lay it flat and the fact that I can have a griddle on one side and a grill on the other.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Non-stick coating on metal plates

I mainly use this product for panini. After a few months of very light use, I noticed the non-stick coating was peeling off the metal plates. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me that the non-stick coating is fading because I use butter on the bread, per their instructions on page 27 of the owner's manual. The manufacturer replaces the plates but requires that I return the defective ones at my own expense. It is problematic to return defective parts to the manufacturer because the…

We love it. We recommend it!

We love this little grill and pan. I got it for my 79 years. old Mother. She loves it. Clean up is so easy; just remove the grill plates, soak in the sink for a few minutes and voila! Here's what we cooked on it: burgers, paninis, toast, burritos, hot dogs, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sautéed onions, sausage, chicken breasts, fried cheese. There is no auto shut off in this device but there is a timer. We like it better than the chunkier three-handle design. It is much better to know the digitally

Really good grill suitable for electric skillets

My old Frigidaire Professional home grill died after about 5 years so I bought this Cuisinart as a replacement. The digital display on it is handy as it shows you the preheat status, grill temperature and countdown timer for cooking. There are only two control knobs on this thing. A power button. The other is a round knob that allows you to set the temperature, cooking time, and cooking mode (grill or pan). When you turn on the grill, the machine adjusts the cooking settings step by step…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Operating speed

I'm not very impressed.

This is my first Cuisinart purchase and probably the last. I have used this Griddler Five to grill a steak twice already. Both times I tried using the SEAR/450 setting. The steak should cook for 2 minutes and then return to 425 degrees, cook for another 2-10 minutes depending on doneness. After 2 minutes of firing, the block did NOT return to 425; It kept cooking at 450 and almost completely ruined my steaks. Tried the steaks again the other day; same thing happened, temptation. stayed at 450…
