Really good grill suitable for electric skillets

My old Frigidaire Professional home grill died after about 5 years so I bought this Cuisinart as a replacement. The digital display on it is handy as it shows you the preheat status, grill temperature and countdown timer for cooking. There are only two control knobs on this thing. A power button. The other is a round knob that allows you to set the temperature, cooking time, and cooking mode (grill or pan). When you turn on the grill, the machine adjusts the cooking settings step by step. Rotate the knob left or right to change the setting, then press the knob to confirm the setting. It takes about 5 minutes to preheat the machine to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. My old grill took 9 minutes so that's a welcome boost. The top and bottom plates of the grill make contact with your food and "compress" the food due to their weight. This is perfect for cooking meat, but the plates will flatten soft foods like bread. My old Frigidaire grill allowed me to block the plates so the top platen wouldn't crush my ham and cheese sandwiches. I really want a countdown timer that turns off the grill when it hits zero. Instead, the grill continues to cook and the timer starts counting down. In other words, it shows you how much time has passed since the countdown ended. All in all a very good grill that I can definitely recommend. Hope it lasts as long as my old one.
