Review on 🔌 Energizer Jumper Cables for Car Battery: Heavy Duty Automotive Booster Cables with Carrying Bag - 16-Feet (6-Gauge) by Ken Hamdan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

2 Ga and 20 feet is fine, but are you saying 800 amps at 20 feet? Spring .

I bought cables to provide a maximum current of 200A for a 2kW 12VDC to 120VAC true sine wave inverter. These cables must be operated within the 20 foot voltage drop. If you look at industry rankings for 2 GA. "COPPER” at 75°C is rated at 115 amps, while "Aluminum” is only rated at 90 amps. So keep in mind that these cables are aluminum wire with a copper jacket, so the true amperage rating for 75 degrees. somewhere between 115 and 90 amps. So if you plan to run these cables at higher currents, expect voltage drops and excessive heat if you use them for long periods of time. Then there are the clamps which have the best features in the first place, they have a good heavy spring and the cable is crimped with an eyelet ring riveted to a handle. The bad part is that the clamp handles are not electrically connected by a metal strip, allowing one side of the clamp jaws to carry most of the current on both ends of the cables. It has been my experience that these types of clamps cause broken connections and sparks, so use caution. Also, the aforementioned jaw terminal is not rated for 800 amps, especially when used at very high current loads for long periods of time. Also, clamp handles do not have insulated handles, so you need to be extra careful to avoid hand burns or short circuits, leather gloves are recommended. Any vehicle that doesn't exceed 300 amps I will be careful as things can get hot very quickly.
