Better than USGI pads. They will arrive after a while if you don't live in Europe. Thicker ones are difficult to insert. More visible and bulkier than 5.11 pads. You wouldn't wear pants with this unless you're an old fart (HELP, get off the floor [I 68]); or work in the forest. Fits very well in a bag. Very cozy. Unlike the 5.11, they are more like traditional knee pads. Since the outside of my pants protects them, they last longer than me - haha!
