put money in when we weren't home the mailbox/safety box seems strong and secure enough IF the item or mail is small enough as you can see my hand is small enough , I could reach out and pick up the envelope without any problem. Since it was cheap and already installed I decided to keep it and just ask people to put the money in an envelope and fold it in half so people couldn't get in. Other than going through the opening, there is no other way to get in without breaking down the door. The lock on the door seems strong enough to hold, but only time will tell.
