I was almost evicted because my dog was so loud when I left the apartment. He has really bad separation anxiety and I've tried everything to get him to stop. Nothing worked so I tried. At first I used the vibration mode but it didn't seem very effective to me so I had to use the shock mode. He does not like it. He whimpers when that happens. I had no choice, my landlord was willing to kick us out. After using this collar in shock mode for a day, I no longer need to use it due to its effectiveness. Now he doesn't mind putting the collar on and I left him on vibrate mode. The beep itself is enough for my dog to understand that he needs to stop barking. My dog has curly hair and weighs about 20 pounds. I would not recommend this for very small dogs. But if you are running out of ideas and need a solution, this is the best option. Recommended for learning.
