I have had many stud vices over the decades. They all work, but no matter what brand they are, they all tend to be cheap hobby tools. As the name "Starrett" suggests, this one is different. The cartridge is accurate, the bits really turn, easy to turn, load and unload. The handle fits comfortably in your hand (unlike all those rotary, ball or other stud type vises that scrape, scrape, stick, etc.). The chuck is easy to tighten to keep the bits from slipping off. By the way, yes, he has ammo. No more changing collets! It's more expensive than a $5 or $10 hobby course, but it's worth every penny. $23 isn't much for such a good tool. I will be buying more of these and a thinner 166A chuck for really small wire bits.
