Plastic so more durable than glass. It is necessary to squeeze all the air out of the pear to suck in enough liquid. There is a permanent kink in the hose, but it will help close the hose if you want to remove it from the battery to take a reading. You have to REALLY hit it to pop the bubbles for consistently accurate readings.
