My wife was learning how to make gourmet sandwiches but didn't have the right equipment. I thought it would be a good gift and bought it. My wife was skeptical of this product but agreed to use it in a gourmet Swiss and Gruyere cheese sandwich with turkey, bacon and smoked tomato paste. The sandwich bread was made with homemade sourdough. The butter on the outside of the bread was burnt, the cheese was still cold, the grate wouldn't clean without rubbing down to the metal with a cheap thin non-stick coating. Really a waste of money, this will be the last Hamilton Beach product we buy.
