I don't usually buy appliances right away, but it's so quick and convenient I've used it for more than just sandwiches. We're empty nesters and I eat alone for a week, leaving me a little uninspired to try harder. With common sense, this device is capable of doing other tasks. turkey burgers, roasted vegetables, quesadillas; name a few. I wish there was temperature control, but given the $20 price tag, can't complain. Two sandwiches also fit on the surface of large-format breads such as rye.
