I bought this based on good reviews but it's terrible. Charring and burning the edges of a thin cheese sandwich before the center is done. And very difficult to open and close. In the few times I've used it, I've burned myself multiple times trying to open it to inspect or remove food. and I can hardly open it. Maybe mine is defective, but it's a lot worse than the old $12 sandwich machines I had and my previous panini machine which was a basic model bought for a fraction of the price. It's complete junk. Now I have to throw this one away and buy another one. I bought this based on good reviews; If the one with good reviews is so terrible how can I find a decent one? I am very disappointed and upset with my purchase. We use this item daily and it is unusable.
