Review on BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 245/65 R17 111 year old by Adam Wojtczuk ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality was generally satisfied, there were minor shortcomings.

Took as a summer on TLK200, departed the season. It was originally planned as a city + field trips, but nature did not work out and exploited on asphalt. Therefore, my impressions are more addressed to those who plan to drive it around the city. In short - the rubber is very specific, I still did not understand all the enthusiasm about it in the reviews. It was created for operation in very difficult conditions, for driving on sharp stones in the arid regions of Australia and the USA, it did not adapt in any way to our Central 2022 latitudes. The main problem for me, identified during operation, is very little grip on asphalt. In order for you to understand the depth of sadness, I changed the car to Pirelli winter spikes at a temperature of about +12 during the day, for fun I tried braking on both sets. The result surprised the spike at +12 slows down MORE CONFIDENTLY than the goodrich . As they say on the Internet, nuff said . TLC car is heavy, all summer it drove naturally like a truck - distances ALWAYS with a margin, we ALWAYS enter a turn at a low speed. It is worth at least a little overdoing it - it immediately starts to squeal and swim. Before that, there was Nokian Hakka summer - I didn’t like it at all, but all the same, on the pavement, it behaved adequately. Even earlier there was a Bridge dueler a / t - also quite normal on the pavement, I wanted to take it, but I wanted to try BFG. Add to this the increased consumption - I thought the gasoline 4.7 would not notice these wheels, but hell was there, at least +2 liters of consumption, well, a small loss in dynamics, but given how it slows down, this is not relevant - it's scary to accelerate)) Of the pluses - she is not at all afraid of anything with such a thickness, but at the same time she was surprisingly easily balanced. If you drive very slowly, a high level of comfort. Quiet, does not feel a rut. True, I have a lot of additional sound insulation in the car, incl. and on the arches, so maybe that played a role. As a result, a very evil price tag, it is not localized and is imported from the states, I took it for 60 with discounts, the analogues were 40 without .

Pros
  • - soft rubber, low noise - comfortable at low speeds - not sensitive to rutting - powerful rubber with a thick sidewall, high durability - despite the low noise, a rather aggressive tread - the car looks evil on it - balanced without problems
Cons
  • - on dry pavement it clings to the road very weakly, even worse than winter spikes - very heavy tires, about 2 liters per hundred plus consumption - due to the weight of the tires, comfort at high speeds suffers, especially when driving over bumps (because the unsprung mass increases greatly) - the price is significantly higher than analogues
