Review on 4 Channel 4 Camera Defender 4K - 1st Generation Legacy by Divine Christmas

I want them to like it.

I have switched from this company's 1080 cameras to these 4K cameras and I regret parting with my 1080 cameras. The field of view is much smaller at 4K, so I'm limited to 65-70% of the 1080 FOV. Defender's solution was to set the resolution to 1080, which at first seems counterintuitive on 4K cameras. I still don't see as wide a field as I did with my 1080 cameras, but it's gotten better. Now that I've done that, there are pink lines running down the sides of the image. I reported this to Defender 2 weeks ago but have not received a resolution yet and the rep is not responding. The dashcam UI is also a lot slicker than my 1080 dashcam so they need to work on making it more stable. If you already have 1080 cameras, keep them and give Defender time to improve this product. Update from Defender on 6/18/19 Found that the DVR on this system only supports 4K on the camera which is in connection 1. So that's my starting point. , other cameras can do 1080 at best and I can't find that information anywhere in the description. It seems counter-intuitive to sell a 4-camera 4K system when only 1 camera can display 4K. Updated 06/27/19. Got a new DVR and camera. The new camera has removed the pink line on one of the old cameras but there are 2 other cameras with the same pink line at 1080 resolution can't see the area I see at 1080 resolution, which in turn makes me regret my decision to upgrade to newer 4K cameras. I'm still waiting for an explanation as to why I can't see the field of view at 4K anywhere near the same as at 1080. I've added new photos to show the difference. 1. Photo 1080, 2. 4K. Update 7/3/19 There are still 2 faulty cameras which the company now says I have to return before they ship new ones. So I will go 2 weeks without cameras until new ones are sent. They also still don't tell me why the field of view of the 4K cameras is drastically smaller than my Defender 1080 cameras and why the image quality is poor when the 4K cameras are set to 1080. Adjusted the star rating as this product was clearly tested below average and needs improvement. Update 7/17/19 So the cameras have been swapped out, but the pink line still shows to the left of the cameras unless they are "just like that". I added a piece of plastic to protect the left side and that mostly solves the problem, but it looks gaudy. No issues with reflections or glare as they are always on the left no matter where the cameras are placed. The company had no other answer than to provide new cameras. The image quality was decided as well as the field of view. Update 7/23/29 Still no response from the company, although I was told that they would be back on 7/17. get in touch with me within one business day. Based on the fact that I first told them about the problem over a month ago, I'm guessing they have no idea what the problem is. Now I regret getting rid of my old 1080 cameras which worked great. Update 7/25/19 Support informed me that they cannot reproduce the problem and have no answer. I guess I'll keep waiting. I originally reported the issue on May 31st, so approaching 2 months with no resolution. Update 08/10/19 Still no response from support. If you're looking for a company that stands behind their products, this isn't it. 2.5 months is too long to sit on a support request. The only time they send updates is when I pester them with 3-4 emails, they finally reply with a message saying they don't have a solution yet. Ridiculous. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB as they refuse to escalate the case to management and the 2 managers I contacted (after finding their information online) are not responding. They have identified an issue affecting "a small fraction of our customers" and will deliver a fully functional system once complete. There is no timeline for a fully working system so I guess it's not just a small part or they would have sent a new one right away. They agreed to refund the purchase price and then send a new system when it was ready. Of course it's not a perfect solution, but at least something. Update 8/23/19 So the refund which should be processed within 1-3 business days has still not arrived and of course there is no update from the company 11 days later. I'm adjusting my rating to 1 star as I wasted too much time on this nonsense and the incredibly poor customer service. It's been 3 months and I still don't have an acceptable solution. Update 9/18/19 I finally got a refund for the cameras which wasn't the result I wanted. The company claims that the issues I am having affect only a small subset of the customers who purchased them, but they are unable to provide me with a working set. Basically, I guess what you're saying is that not enough people have noticed the problem, so these customers don't have a problem. Anyway, I have a set of free cameras, which is good, but the company can't offer full cameras. I expected a lot more in this price range. If I hadn't given my 1080 Defender cameras they would have been reinstalled.

image & video quality are amazing, even in the dark. DVR works flawlessly
