Difficult installation but they definitely helped. Use lots of soap and leave it out in the sun.

These items definitely helped lighten the load a bit on my 6kg camper trailer expedition, but the initial setup really sucks. There video is useless and for much smaller cars where you can actually bend their product. You definitely can't do that with big feathers and a powerful sumo feather. It took me about two or two and a half hours to put the first one on. I was very apprehensive about doing the second one before the trip, but I learned two valuable things about the second one and it took about three minutes to install, so I wanted to transfer them together: 1. I let the second sumo spring sit before installing in the hot sun all day, by mistake, but it made it much more malleable to install and I think it helped a lot. I've never seen this tip before, so I wanted to share it. 2. Use a ton of soap, directly lubricate the springs with soap, lubricate the channels on the sumo spring with soap, apply soap to the outside of the sumo spring. This will really help set the sumo feather in place and rotate it up and around the structure. Three other things that helped and that I learned from the Amazon reviews: 1. I cut out small cones to help get started, just a small 1/2" x 1/2" triangle at the top and below. 2. I used a screwdriver to tighten the sumo spring around the post. 3. Follow the advice to remove the tire from the car. I don't see how you would build big machines without this step.
