Instructions are a bit flimsy, but it's not rocket science. Plastic parts are more likely to wear out and break, as is the case with the ones I replace over time. My ladder was riveted so I had to take out the rivets to replace mine with these. I used a hammer and chisel to break the rivets. I didn't have a cutter head either, but I found that the screws can self-thread into existing holes. those with whom the ladder came. A NOTICE. I took the time to look at the make and model of my ladder to make sure the replacement parts I ordered would work. I would advise the same to anyone needing a do-it-yourself replacement.
