It took a few minutes and a few tools to remove the old tread locks but once done the installation was simple and easy. Staircase locks are secure and work as intended. This is how you get a new staircase for a fraction of the price

The parts were very easy to assemble as they fit together very well. The extension ladder is old but in excellent condition with new "like new" parts. Parts came early from seller.

Cylinder replacement locks work well, but the bolts that hold the locks in place (after you've drilled the rivets as instructed) are fine thread and the nuts are medium thread. Luckily I always have a few jars of extra nuts and bolts so I could find the right nuts for the bolts.

This is a great product. Well made and easy to install. I'm only rating this 3 stars because the box arrived and was opened. Screws and lock nuts were missing. I called the manufacturer and they did nothing to fix the problem. I would return the product but it was easier to go to ACE Equipment and pick up the missing parts.

The extension part of the old ladder has to be turned around. The extension part of the ladder was on the back of the base ladder. Slide it off and place it back on the front of the base ladder. I had to rearrange the new crossbar locks directly over the next crossbar where the old locks were. The new ones don't go where the old crossbar locks used to go. new locks are bolted to 2 crossbars. Works perfectly.

Instructions are a bit flimsy, but it's not rocket science. Plastic parts are more likely to wear out and break, as is the case with the ones I replace over time. My ladder was riveted so I had to take out the rivets to replace mine with these. I used a hammer and chisel to break the rivets. I didn't have a cutter head either, but I found that the screws can self-thread into existing holes. those with whom the ladder came. A NOTICE.
