I still work with this device and still appreciate its long-term value. My collection of digital materials, music, databases, documents and photos has grown to multiple external hard drives over the years. So I packed everything onto this 4 terabyte mega drive. It's like filling up a basement or attic, how much of it do you really need? But what makes it good is that it allows you to wirelessly collect all of those things in one place. It's wireless, which is a blessing and a curse. It uploads all my photos from my iPhone via the My Cloud app. That's great just in case I want to see the sandwich and beer I had six months ago at this restaurant that seemed so cool at the time. The problem with My Cloud Home is the bulk upload back to my iPhone or iPad. I can only upload one image or video at a time and it takes a long time and is a problem, but only with Apple iOS products and not my PC. So I hope they improve the WD apps and the Files app. There's no wired access to the device either, so it's all over Wi-Fi. It's fine to access via WiFi at home or on the go, but I wish it had both WiFi and wired, and for that reason I'll probably buy another external drive as a final solution.
